Camp Encourage offers quality overnight camp opportunities involving relationship development, recreation, and relaxation for individuals on the autism spectrum, ages ten and older. Additionally, year-round opportunities are available for potential and current campers and their families, volunteers, and supporters.
Sensory supports, visual strategies, direct social instruction, and positive behavioral supports are a few of the many important elements that make Camp Encourage unique. Traditional camp activities including ziplining, swimming, participating in art activities, and singing by the campfire are a few of the numerous activities available.
Camp Encourage provides an accepting, loving atmosphere and is well staffed with high quality, well-trained counselors, activity facilitators, medical personnel, and behavior specialists.
Overnight sessions of Camp Encourage occur at Heartland Retreat Center in Parkville, Missouri or Tall Oaks Camp in Linwood, KS. Each outing occurs in various places across the greater Kansas City area.
