Joy Meadows Outdoor Adventure Camp
The Outdoor Adventure Day Camp provides new enrichment experiences, relational connections, and outdoor fun for children impacted by foster care in a trauma-informed setting. It is a day camp where children get to participate in the following activities:
● Interact with the barn animals and ride horses
● Experience the garden/orchard to learn about nature and harvest
● Farm-to-table cooking activities from garden produce
● Enjoy the lake, kayak, water slide and fishing
● Create an art project in the art studio such as pottery, painting, needle point or woodworking
● Have some good old outdoor camp fun, camp games, nature hikes and more!
After a registration fee of $15-$25, camp is free for the week. Registration includes a camp t-shirt, backpack, all snacks and meals, and lots of fun! There are multiple camp sessions in June and July. For more information and to register for a Joy Meadows camp, visit https://team.joykc.net/shop/program-registration-2026. If you have any questions about camp, please contact Jarred at jarred@joymeadows.org.
Staff
The camp will be directed by a Joy Meadows staff member. Our trained summer staff will help lead the daily activities and be there for a relational connection with each camper. That connection is further fostered by a 4:1 ratio of campers to camp counselors.
All camp staff have received training in trauma and attachment, the foster care system, animal safety, and first aid. Our amazing volunteers serve as camp counselors for the week and also receive training. Lifeguards are present at water activities. Life jackets are required and provided for all campers.
